Konda Laxman Bapuji Passes Away

Konda Laxman Bapuji, a freedom fighter who participated in the Telangana Rebellion, passed away today in Hyderabad. He was 97.

Bapuji was born in Wankidi village in Adilabad district on 27 September 1915

He participated in the Quit India movement in 1942, in the 1952 Non mulki agitation and1969 Telangana Agitation. He was a minister and resigned in 1969 for Telangana cause.

He was a member of Telangana Sadhana Samithi.He also started Nava Telangana Praja Party. He was instrumental in forming Akhila Bharat padmashali sangam at Hyderabad.
He unsuccessfully contested as MLA from Munugodu constituency in 1962 and later on served as MLA for two terms from Bhongir assembly constituency (1967-72, 172-78).
