The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday decided to introduce grading system in the SSC public examinations from this academic year and do away with the announcement of marks.
At present, only the CBSE and ICSE Boards follow grading method in Class X examination.
There will be no marks in the SSC public exams to be held in March 2010 grades for students based on their performance will be given according to the minister for secondary education, Manikya Vara Prasada Rao.
The government has also decided to have bar codes in answer scripts of all subjects from this year. Last year, bar coding was implemented for four subjects barring language papers.

A1 (Top 12.5 of the passed candidates), Marks (509-600)
A2 (12.5- 25), Marks (470-508)
B1 (25-37.5), Marks (435-469)
B2 (35.7-50) Marks (404-434)
C1 (50-62.5), Marks (374-404)
C2 (62.5-75), Marks (343-373)
D1 (75-87.5), Marks (308-342)
D2 : Marks (204-307)
bottom 12.5 per cent of passed candidates
E (less than 35 per cent in any subject is considered failed).
