Will Sankranti bring cheer to Tollywood?

With the agitation for Telangana state looming large on the prospects of Tollywood films, the Telugu film industry bigwigs are crossing their fingers and awaiting Sankranti releases.

VV Vinayak’s “Adurs” with NTR Jr scheduled for release on December 25, 2009, is now scheduled for Sankranti. Similarly, Sreenu Vaitla’s “Namo Venkatesha” with Venkatesh is also releasing on the festival day. Ravi Teja’s “Shambo Shiva Shambo” is also due on the same day.

Om Shanti” the second production venture of 3 Angels is releasing this Thursday along with the Tamil dubbed film “Yugankokkadu”. The Nitin starrer “Seetharamula Kalyanam” along with Shivaji’s maiden production “Taj Mahal”, will hit the screen on the festival days.

Will these films succeed at the box office? We will have to wait and watch. The two films “Maa Nanna Chiranjeevi” and “Kasko” released at the beginning of 2010 are not faring well at the box office.
