Sonu Sood Plays A Real Life Cop In Maximum

Though it is known that Sonu Sood plays a young gallant police officer in the upcoming film Maximum, it is now revealed that his role is totally based on the real life cop Pradeep Sharma an encounter specialist.

In fact, Pradeep Sharma is presently serving as an officer in the police force of Mumbai. He attained notability as an encounter specialist with the Mumbai Encounter Squad and was involved with the deaths of as many as 112 criminals. On 31 August 2008 he was dismissed from the Mumbai police on charges of corruption but was reinstated on 9 May 2009 after he was proven innocent of those charges.

It is also revealed that director Kabir Kaushik extensively interacted with Pradeep Sharma while scripting Maximum. Not only that, another character in the film Urvashi played by Anjana Sukhani is said to be modeled on that of Urmila Matondkar of Rangeela fame.

Similarly, Vinay Pathak plays a politician based on Kripa Shankar Singh. Naseeruddin Shah plays Vijay Salaskar the encounter cop who was killed in the 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai.

Maximum, with its fictionalised characters of real life personalities, is scheduled for release on July 29.
