25 films old Nayanatara is celebrating her 25th birthday today.
She is the highest paid South Indian actress, getting one crore plus for a film appearance. After several successful films like Laxmi, Chandramukhi, Ghajini, Billa, Yaaradi Nee Mohini, Tulasi, Boss, Dubai Sreenu and Salute Nayanthara has established herself as one of the most promising, sought-after actresses of South India.
Though her latest film Salute with Vishal did not do well at the box-office, Nayanatara still commands the maximum demand and the highest price.
Nayanatara was born as Diana Mariam Kurien on 8th November 1984 into an Orthodox Syrian Christian family in Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. She did her schooling at various parts of India as her father was an Indian Air Force Officer. She joined Marthoma college in Thiruvalla for her bachelors degree in English Literature.
While at college, Diana was spotted by director Satyan Anthikkad and cast opposite Jayaram in Mansinakkare with the screen name Nayanthara or Nayanatara. She then co-starred with Mohanlal in Naatturajaavu and in Fazil’s Vismayathumbathu. She was also cast with Mammootty in Thaskaraveeran and Raapakal.
Nayanatara is equally popular with Tamil and Telugu audience.
She was cast opposite Sarath Kumar in Ayya and with Rajnikanth in Chandramukhi. Her later films are Vallavan (Tamil), Gajini (Tamil), Tulasi (Telugu) among others. Her recent biggest hits were Billa and Chandramukhi. Her Yaaradi Nee Mohini was also a great success. She is at the moment busy with the Tamil film Villu.
