Amy Jackson’s 'Hosanna' song gets religious ire

British model and actress who is making her debut in Bollywood with Gautam Menon’s film Ek Deewana Tha crooned a song ‘Hosanna’ which was composed by AR Rahman.

Christian Secular Forum (CSF) is objecting to the use of the word Hosanna, since it is a prayer in the Bible and the term is sacred to both Jews and Christians.

However, Amy Jackson says, “I am a Christian and since the age of five I have been singing…chanting hymns containing the word Hosanna. I have been brought up in family that is Christian and the majority of Christians in this country agree with it and there is a small number, who have a problem with it.”

Ekk Deewana Tha is the Hindi remake of Gautham Menon’s own Tamil film, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, which was remade in Telugu as Ye Maaya Chesave.
